Historic Cheriton, Virginia is located approximately 12 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Cheriton's history dates to the development of rail service to the lower Eastern Shore and was founded in 1886 along with the nearby town of Cape Charles.

At their July 22sd meeting, the Cheriton Town Council voted to create the Cheriton Planning Commission. For additional information concerning the Commission, contact your Town Council members or Mayor Lewis.
